Let me start out this review by saying that this manga chapter is straight fire. Toyotaro came with the heat this month and boy did he incinerate us. It starts out with the Sugarians running scared because of all the explosions and pew, pews going on.

Vegeta then begins to explain to Granolah that fusion and clones won’t work on him. Vegeta also attempts to explain to Granolah that he and Goku do not work for Frieza and that he hasn’t in a long time. Granolah is like, nah bro, I’m not having it. I’m racist and hate monkeys so I’m going to kill you now. Sounds like something a certain someone that looks like that thing Chi-Chi keeps in her drawer would say.

Oatmeal chimes in with his opinion on the situation telling Granolah that it’s odd both Saiyans said the same thing about not working for Frieza. Granolah thinks Vegeta is full of crap and just trying to save his own skin. Again Granolah puts his hatred for monkeys on full display. It’s almost like they did something to hurt him as a child and scar him for life… oh wait..

Vegeta then goes on to say he figured that would be Granolah’s stance and that he isn’t going to hold back while continuing to hold back the entire time. I know we need to build suspense here since we are building up to something bigger but isn’t the logical choice simply to go all out for real at the start? Ah, nevermind. I am not entirely certain if Vegeta is in Super Saiyan Blue or Blue Evolution at thus point but after seeing what Granolah did to Goku you would think he’d be busting out the hakai form right away. It seems the Saiyan Instinct to start as small as possible without dying and work your way up is too great to overcome. It isn’t exactly like he needs to size him up. But maybe he just wants to play mind games with Granolah? He just saw Goku lose to him after all. He already knows what Granolah is capable of. Anime logic 101, class is in session my friends.

Hard to tell what Vegeta was trying to do here. In the draft pages I had assumed he was trying to blind Granolah. Now it seems like this was meant to do actual damage. It didn’t do any damage but it was pretty cool to see an attack like that from Vegeta. Very Moro esque. I think he was using the hakai in a small dose because of Granolah’s comment in the page after the next pages panels.

Granolah claims Vegeta is lacking in the destructive power department. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since Vegeta wasn’t trying very hard although Granolah doesn’t know that. What makes me believe he was using hakai here was not just Granolah’s statement about his destructive power but also the fact that those few small rocks turned into a massive explosion. When Beerus demonstrated the hakai to Vegeta he made a large explosion from a small pebble and explained that when matter is destroyed it makes a ton of energy. Essentially the concept of splitting an atom. This move seems to be the equivalent of an atomic bomb. Granolah just brushed off a nuke like it was nothing. That’s to be expected, but still pretty cool when you think about it. However, considering that all three of them could easily wipe out universes at this point I guess it isn’t all that impressive.

Granolah shows off what appears to be his own version of the hakai by blowing up a giant Boulder behind Vegeta, only it actually does do some damage to Vegeta sending him flying. We were already made aware that Granolah has this ability a few chapters ago. The battle is just beginning and Granolah seems to have the lead for now. I would like to point out that they are going to have a lot of explaining to do in the anime regarding the hakai. Up until recently the hakai just erased whatever it made contact with without an explosion. How Toyotaro and Toriyama are going to explain this retcon of the hakai where it suddenly induces massive explosive damage from splitting atoms won’t be easy. It is supposed to erase a beings entire timeline but destroying atoms would still only be the equivalent of inducing death wouldn’t it? Even if your body is erased on a sub-atomic level that wouldn’t make it as though it is erased from having ever existed. If that were the case, when things were destroyed at that level we would never have known they existed in the first place

That simply isn’t the case. Other people still remember it existed, so there would have to be more of an explanation as to why the matter is destroyed and causes an atom splitting reaction when the hakai is used. It made more sense when the hakai just made things dissappear without any reaction. It had more of a magical God like feel to it. They had to give Vegeta some way to catch up to Ultra Instinct and they wrote themselves into a corner with it. Upgrade Vegeta and downgrade Goku. I honestly don’t care for that method.

Vegeta is just getting wrecked here. Not much to see aside from some decent art by Toyotaro. Vegeta has to let Granolah think he’s winning before he busts out his super special awesome, spectacularly destructive, super surprise.

Vegeta just does not care at all! A kick to the stomach? That means nothing to Vegeta! The prince of all 5.25 Saiyans again attempts to hit Granolah with a ki blast. Vegeta is on it today.

The attack misses, but that doesn’t matter because we get some of that close quarters combat we love so much. Vegeta seems a bit like a Chihuahua at this point. He runs up, bites Granolah’s ankle, gets punted towards the wall, and repeats the process. A never ending cycle of Vegeta kicking. At least he looks cool while he does it. Vegeta is going to turn into a rottweiler soon though so watch out Granolah. You might get bit for real.

Vegeta looks next level serious even though he isn’t being serious at all. The art is great here. The detail on each individual tree as Vegeta falls to Earth is insane. I would not have the patience to draw each tree like that. It had to have taken forever for just that one panel.

The strongest man in the universe is getting his punches blocked by the “third” strongest. So much for that title. It’s so exciting knowing Vegeta is about to throw some heat on Granolah and he has no idea. That overconfident attitude and lack of experience is going to be Granolah’s downfall.

Granolah did get through after having a kick blocked too. It’s amazing what Vegeta is doing here. He is doing what Perfect Cell did to Trunks. Let him build confidence in himself thinking he has this in the bag, only to show him how insignificant he is five minutes later. Even if Vegeta ends up not being enough to stomp Granolah, Goku is awake now so we may see a tag team soon. If so Granolah stands no chance. And I am fairly certain this is going to happen. After all, Elec did say his plan was for both Goku, and Vegeta to take on Granolah. This was likely foreshadowing.

Granolah seems to really believe he is a human sniper rifle. This man needs to get off the Call of Duty and get some sunlight. His hit ratio isn’t too great at the moment either. Vegeta has got some great dodging skills in this fight. 360 no scope much?

Granolah has missed every single shot so far. In the words of Team Four Star’s Goku when he fought Frieza, “You should really work on your aim". He is just blindly firing into the water. My question is if he is this powerful, why isn’t the ground taking more damage when he hits it? Obviously he isn’t trying to destroy his own planet but come on, there should at least be a massive crater and explosion from someone that powerful. Also Granolah’s ki sensing skills don’t seem that sharp.

Granolah is still trying to hit Vegeta and Vegeta is still dodging every ki blast. It seems Vegeta was paying extra close attention during Piccolo’s “dodge” training. Also, the waterfall in this shot looks amazing. Toyotaro is getting better with his art with every passing manga chapter.

Granolah is asking Oatmeal for an aim assist? Stop right there. That’s against the rules! Aim bot is cheating bro! Also he seems to have switched from a sniper rifle to a bow and arrow. Not really sure what the purpose of this is but it is definitely cool.

I still don’t get it. He isn’t actually holding a bow and arrow. Why on Earth is he releasing his fingers like he just fired an actual bow? It’s a ki blast man! Just fire it normally! I get wanting to look cool and be accurate but you aren’t holding a weapon here. You literally are the weapon! Just aim yourself! Also stop cheating. Aim bots are not cool. We all know it isn’t aim assist either because aim assist sucks and Granolah hits the target.

Vegeta tanks Granolah’s weird bow and arrow attack. Granolah may be strong but Vegeta isn’t a pushover in this chapter either. In the last chapter, after Granolah defeated Ultra Instinct Goku, I expected him to be much stronger than he is proving to be. I can’t help but wonder if since Granolah divided his strength when making the clone he fought Goku with, when the clone lost, maybe Granolah lost half his power? Maybe Granolah is only at fifty percent of his full power during his current fight with Vegeta.

The blast explodes and Vegeta doesn’t die. Granolah looks extra surprised by this. If this were any other day that blast likely would have killed Vegeta, or at least knocked him out. But this isn’t any other day, today is a special day indeed.

Vegeta is damaged, wet, and has sand in his boots. That has to suck. Granolah is surprised that Vegeta and Goku are so strong. The powers of a man with sand in his boots know no bounds.

Oh yes Granolah, Vegeta’s overinflated ego is far from reality. However, Granolah has made a grave mistake, and he doesn’t even know he made it. Granolah stuck around while Vegeta declared victory, and he hasn’t pointed at himself once yet. Now would be a good time to run away and forget this battle ever happened. Granolah’s hatred for monkeys is just too strong though. He must kill all the Monkey’s to satisfy his barbaric rage. He really is no different than Frieza in that regard.

Goku woke up? Awesome! If Granolah wasn’t screwed before then he is now. He better pray that if Vegeta doesn’t win on his own that they don’t fuse. Not that he knows they can. Even if they don’t fuse they will likely wreck his whole world. But wouldn’t it be crazy if Granolah has forced Spirit Fission? Considering he gained all their techniques he probably does. Whether he knows that he can do it or not is the real question.

Goku is starting to get up. Looks like this may become a tag team match after all. Goku watches as Vegeta and Granolah fly over head fighting. It seems Goku isn’t quite done yet though because he was expecting to fight Granolah some more as soon as he got up. We will likely see Ultra Instinct Goku enter the battle again soon. The two of them fighting Granolah in Ultra Instinct and Prince of Destruction Vegeta form is a fans wet dream.

Why Goku is surprised by the fact Vegeta joined the fight, I have no idea. He was knocked out, did he expect Vegeta to let Granolah kill him or something? Come on Goku! Have a little more faith in Vegeta than that. Did he expect Vegeta to get killed in one shot or something?

Vegeta is attempting to break out his own machine gun and give Granolah a taste of his own medicine. Unfortunately, Granolah just destroys his ki blasts before they can land. Honestly, Granolah is a bit of a monster here. This is some God like power. In the words of Goku every time someone rapid fires ki blasts at someone, “That’s Vegeta’s attack!”

This is one of the best panels of the chapter. Granolah cannot handle Vegeta’s mind games at all. Granolah is winning the physical battle, but he is being mentally destroyed. Did it feel good destroying the ruins of the city you care so much about avenging Granolah? Obviously not since his response was to tell Vegeta he is a dead man. Still it is hilarious. Granolah is proving he is no better than the Saiyans are and Vegeta is making him see that.

Vegeta is on it today. He knows Granolah recently gained his powers and that is enough to know he is going to end Granolah’s whole career. Just because Granolah is strong, doesn’t mean he is guaranteed a victory here. With great power comes great responsibility. That’s what my uncle Ben always told me.

Granolah really hates the idea of training. He is the literal definition of anime cheat codes if anime had cheat codes. It does, they are called Dragon Balls instead of cheats though. Granolah, you should watch out! Vegeta’s got your leg.

One thing I am curious about is if the attack actually damaged Granolah’s leg or not. It looks like it should have broken it but it doesn’t appear to be the case. I really hope it didn’t feel good at all. I am starting to hate Cerealian’s for hating monkey’s. In all seriousnes, even though Vegeta got kicked away, that was a slick move right there! Granolah’s lack of experience is really showing.

Honestly Granolah? At this point, probably less than he’s saved. But you wouldn’t know that because you’re a Saiyan hating racist and won’t listen to reason. Neither Goku nor Vegeta have done anything to act barbaric. I don’t see a wooden club and loin cloth, do you?

I love what Vegeta says here. It isn’t about who is the strongest. That only matters at that moment in time. Anyone can be the strongest if they train hard enough. Something Vegeta learned from Goku the hard way in early Dragon Ball Z. I love the character development showing through. Now it’s time for Vegeta to teach Granolah that same lesson. You may have been the strongest yesterday Granolah, but today is a new day.

Vegeta is here confirming that he and Goku get stronger as they fight. See Broly isn’t special, it’s a Saiyan thing. Of course we already knew this, usually their best gain is from a zenkai boost though. Unfortunately Vegeta did get hit here, but all isn’t as it seems. Vegeta is about to teach this man a lesson he won’t soon forget.

Vegeta may be bloody and bleeding, but he is in his happy place for sure. Vegeta is in the zone and knows he is about to turn this whole fight around. Get ready, the best is about to come.

The look of terror on Granolah’s face is priceless. He knows he messed up now and there is no going back from this. The new Vegeta is here and he is done playing around. That column of hakai flames says it all.

Goku can feel it. Vegeta’s ki has changed alright. This is one of the most awesome transformation sequences in Dragon Ball maybe ever. No it isn’t going to be as iconic as Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation against Frieza, or Ultra Instinct against Jiren. But it is definitely the most awesome transformation sequence we have seen Vegeta do. Those hakai flames look incredible. I can’t wait to see this animated! Goku knows what’s about to happen.

Granolah’s face of terror as he watches his ki blasts disintegrate in the cloud of hakai energy takes me to my happy place. Wreck his world Vegeta! You got this in the bag!

Vegeta reappears from the flames without eyebrows and likely a deep purple hair color. The flames look intense and Granolah is simply terrified. All Granolah can do is as questions and to top it off all of Vegeta’s injuries have been healed. Behold, the man of the hour has arrived. Does this mean Vegeta can give himself infinite zenkai boosts? I have to wonder.

Or should I say that the God of the hour has arrived? Everyone, give a big warm welcome to PRINCE OF DESTRUCTION VEGETA! The last thing you will ever see! All jokes aside the final statement by Vegeta here does raise some questions. What does he mean by power derived from Instinct is unbounded? Is this some God of Destruction version of Ultra Instinct? We had all assumed he was simply going to have a hakai form similar to Toppo’s form in the Tournament of Power. It seems that is not the case. Some people have suggested this could be an omen form similar to what Goku had in Ultra Instinct, but I really don’t think so. It is debatable whether people think the form looks good or not, and people may be sick of transformations, but let’s be honest, Vegeta desperately needed this. If he didn’t get this transformation he was going to remain irrelevant to Goku and we can’t have that happening. Goku needs a rival and that rival is Vegeta. All of that aside I couldn’t care less about any of the complaints people have. I just want to see vegeta kick Granolah’s teeth in when chapter 75 arrives!
