Dragon Ball Super Movie 2022 Name Revealed! And The Name is Dragon Ball Super Super Hero
We have all been patiently waiting for some form of return of Dragon Ball Super, and when we got an announcement for a new movie for 2022, everyone was excited. We have all been waiting, holding our breath for an announcement regarding what the movie will be called, what it will be about, and what the animation style will be. Today the announcement was finally made, and it isn’t what any of us were expecting at all.
First let’s start with the name of the new movie courtesy of the Dragon Ball Super Panel at Comic Con @ Home. The official name of the Dragon Ball Super 2022 Movie is “Dragon Ball Super Super Hero” and yes it is weird that they threw the word “super" in there twice. Well let’s not make assumptions about the movie just yet based off of a strange sounding name. After all, just because the name sounds strange doesn’t mean this can’t still end up being a great movie.
During the panel where this information was released we were also given a brand new character design for a sneak peak of what to expect. It was also stated that Akira Toriyama himself is the one designing all the characters and contributing his heart and soul into making this movie. That gives me high hopes for it. Below is the brand new character design that we got a sneak preview of.
Let’s just point out that there is something odd with this new character design. Why would they be labeled as one and two, with different colors if they are the same character? It seems that this may not have been the reveal of just one character, but rather two new characters. No details were given on what their role in the new movie will be, however they are interesting designs that people are free to speculate on.
This is definitely going to be an odd movie, at least for Dragon Ball. That doesn’t mean this movie can’t still end up being great, however it seems one of our worst fears is coming to reality. Many of you guessed it, and now we are going to see it come to life. Most of us were hoping the movie would be in the eaxct same animation style as Dragon Ball Super Broly. After all, the movie did extremely well so why fix what isn’t broken? Instead we are getting, just like so many of you said we would, some CGI, but it isn’t what you’re thinking. Yes there will be some CGI, and we were given a sneak preview of what that CGI is going to look like. But the majority of the Movie will not contain any CGI. Let’s just say the CGI they did release though looks odd. You be the judge.
And there you have it. Other than some more character designs of characters we have all seen before, all in the same style as the new character they shared, that’s what we got. I will share the rest of the character designs and landscapes with you as well. Other than Piccolo actually getting a house, and a gradeschool Pan, it isn’t really anything revolutionary in terms of character design.
The image of landscape which includes Picollo’s house is where the battle will be taking place. We aren’t sure who will be involved in that battle yet. The majority of the designs are similar to how they appear in the manga. Krillin and Picollo specifically. Piccolo had the pink on his arms changed to yellow. Something that isn’t immediately noticeable since we have seen it before. There just isn’t a whole lot of new stuff here to go off of.
Hopefully we will soon get an actual reveal of what the plot is. And a much nicer teaser is definitely in order. The one they shared barely seemed like it was even finished. It’s almost like they rushed it out for the panel. Hopefully they don’t simply rush out the whole movie. I still have high hopes for the movie despite the rushed teaser. When Toriyama is this heavily involved, odds are it will be a good movie. Let us know what you guys think about it down in the comments.
