We have all waited in suspense for nearly a month to see the results of Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 74 and we have those results early! I knew Vegeta was going to have a big reveal this chapter, and boy did I predict this accurately. I have posted several articles about it. People told me no way, that I was crazy and it’s too soon for Vegeta to get a new form! He will just be using hakai and won’t stand a chance against Granolah! Well guess what, it seems you were the ones who were wrong. For those of you that don’t already know, let’s get into everything we know about Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 74 and Vegeta’s brand new God of Destruction form.

The Chapter starts with Vegeta getting the ever loving crap beat out of him. He gets bloody, beaten, and even more smug as it all goes down.

Vegeta reveals he is nowhere near finished and he has been hiding his true powers from Granolah. That causes a looks of shock to come onto Granolah’s face, and honestly it only gets better from here. Because we finally get to see Vegeta pull out his new Trump card, Ultra Inst!… I mean Super Saiyan God of Destruction Super Saiyan Evolution! Or Super Saiyan God Of Destruction, SGD for short. Maybe Super Saiyan Purple? Do please note I just made all of those names up and none of them are actually canon, although knowing Toriyama any of those names could legitimately be what it’s actually called. Just spit balling here. For now let’s just call it his God of Destruction form to keep things simple.

The look of shock on Granolah’s face really is priceless. This also means that Vegeta’s training with Beerus really is likely complete. So does this mean that Vegeta could actually become a God of Destruction? Well yeah, obviously I know he could, but would he? Probably not but I would love to see it happen at least temporarily. Even if it’s only a filler arc in the anime, I just really want to see it. Maybe Beerus falls asleep and Whis is like, alright Vegeta welcome to your first day at work. Your first task is find tasty food and scare the hell out of the Kais. Maybe destroy a planet or something if you feel like it. Your shift ends when Beerus wakes up in 42 years. You’d better tell Bulma you’re doing overtime. But in all seriousness Vegeta needed this to catch up to Goku super badly. He was quickly becoming irrelevant with Goku’s mastery of Ultra Instinct and he finally has a form that puts him back on the competitive map in terms of their rivalry.

A New fiery hakai aura, dark hair with highlights (probably dark purple), and a lack of eyebrows, we now know what God of Destruction Vegeta looks like. It’s aesthetics are debatable as to whether it actually looks good or not. I personally don’t mind it from a visual perspective, but I also hate it because it’s lazy in terms of design. Take God of Destruction Toppo in the anime and compare his transformation to Vegeta’s and tell me Vegeta didn’t get the short end of the stick. Toppo got monstrously buff, a cool God of Destruction design on his body, an awesome full body color change. Vegeta gets a few flames, a dark (again probably purple) colored hair change, and loses his eyebrows. I don’t hate it but I don’t think it looks nearly as cool as Toppo’s form did. Vegeta got the short end of the stick here. To be honest though if it brings him closer to Goku’s level I don’t really care what it looks like. I just want him to remain relevant.

Warning! The next paragraph contains full spoilers for chapter 74!

Now before we start discussing the form any further I want to get into full on early spoilers that I happen to have. When chapter 74 is fully released you will see I am telling the truth. I can promise they are indeed authentic and they are accurate. This is a full beginning to end of chapter 74. First things first, as you have seen in the panels it starts out with Granolah being superior to Vegeta and kicking the living crap out of him. They fight in a river, waterfall, lake, and on dry ground. During this fight Goku manages to regain consciousness. A good thing too because if Vegeta and Goku work together they can probably win this easily. Vegeta then tricks Granolah into unintentionally destroying part of the Cerealian ruins by accident. Granolah becomes furious and kicks Vegeta in the stomach as displayed in the prior panels. Vegeta catches the kick and tries to break Granolah’s leg but fails. Granolah then hits Vegeta’s stomach again with his hand. Vegeta tries to stop him by grabbing his arm but Granolah stops him and breaks Vegeta’s armor with his fingers. Vegeta then bleeds from his mouth a bunch. Granolah’s attack damaged him a lot. Vegeta then starts transforming and Granolah moves away from Vegeta because he feels Vegeta is dangerous as shown in the early panels. Then Vegeta is engulfed in a column of hakai flames. Finally Vegeta’s new God of Destruction transformation is revealed as shown in the panels above. That is the end of the chapter. So we have to wait until chapter 75 to see what Vegeta’s new powers can really do.

We still don’t know what Vegeta is capable of in this form, but I have some predictions. After seeing the form I no longer believe he will be using the hakai energy shield like Toppo did although he certainly could. It’s too early to know for certain. We have no way of knowing until we see it in action. But I am making an educated guess that he isn’t going to be doing that since there is not solid hakai aura around his body. I will say though that I think Vegeta will be far stronger in his God of Destruction form than Toppo was. He defeated Toppo without this form, so it is only natural that Vegeta’s version would be far stronger. This form almost has to be the result of Super Saiyan Blue Evolution stacked with the hakai.

Now for the big question we are all wondering. Is Vegeta finally on Ultra Instinct Goku’s level, or has he maybe even surpassed him? I must say I doubt that he has surpassed him. I don’t know if he is even on his level or not yet. It is impossible to say until we see the form in action. But I will say that from the look of terror on Granolah’s face it is likely that he is at least close to the same level and possibly is more dangerous. It is clear that Vegeta has truly reached the power of a God of Destruction. Has he surpassed Beerus? Most likely no he hasn’t. Is he close to his level or maybe an equal? Yeah, I’d say he is probably getting close to that tier of power. But the biggest question of all, is Vegeta going to defeat Granolah?

This will all come down to whether or not Granolah can stop the hakai. I want to say that with the level of power Vegeta is at, he likely won’t be able to. Not a full power one at least with direct contact. Now I want to specify that God of Destruction Toppo was not in the manga, just the anime, so this may or may not prove to be true. However, I do want to point out that Goku and Frieza were both able to fend off a hakai from Siedra although it was a weak one. Toppo threw a much larger hakai at Frieza and he barely survived it only because Toppo wanted that result. We now know the level of control that can be had over the hakai and how the power of it can be manipulated. We saw that clearly when Beerus destroyed Vegeta’s armor without damaging his body.

If Toppo could do this then a far stronger Vegeta who does not have those limitations in this situation should prove far more deadly. Beerus has stated before that no matter who, or what it is, he can erase it from existence if he wants to. Therefore it is likely possible that someone with a mastery of hakai like Beerus, and now Vegeta have, may be able to create a hakai strong enough to erase someone even as powerful as Granolah.

However, there is one thing we need to remember. We have seen Granolah demonstrate that after his wish he gained his own version of the hakai which we do not have a name for. We also don’t what level of mastery Grabolah has over it either. If Granolah has this type of power it is very much a possibility that Granolah may still be able to counter the hakai with his own version of it, and we may get a more even battle between the two of them than we are expecting. It is possible with this form Vegeta may win this fight, but I don’t see this being an easy fight by any stretch of the imagination. Granolah is still absurdly powerful and I can’t see Vegeta overwhelming him that easily to where he simply dominates Granolah with no challenge at all. But the look on Granolah’s face is indicating that maybe this will be one sided in Vegeta’s favor. No matter what we are in for an awesome fight between the two.

I don’t believe Vegeta will be erasing Granolah, nor do I think Vegeta will lose the fight. Something will happen soon that will interrupt this fight and there won’t be a clear winner. The Heeters will interrupt it somehow eventually. But maybe they won’t in time to stop a tag team match with Goku and Vegeta both against Grabolah? After all Goku does wake up in Chapter 74. Maybe we will see them work together to defeat Granolah? We will just have to wait and see. One thing that is almost certain though, yhe Heeters are likely going to get their wish and make Gas the strongest in the universe. Gas along with OG 73 will be the main enemies of the arc and I am saying that with confidence even though I very well could be wrong. We won’t know for certain for awhile but based on how this arc is going it seems like the obvious conclusion. For now though we have what is surely going to be an awesome battle that will finally give Vegeta a chance to shine for once. Vegeta fans rejoice! Your time has come!
