Youtube’s February 2025 Algorithm is Hurting Small Creators!

I would like to begin this article by pointing out that I have been doing Youtube on and off as a UFO content creator for the better part of 7 years and it is no secret that my genre was negatively impacted until the first round of UFO Congressional Hearings. My channel Alien Bros took me 3 months in 2018 to take from getting a couple hundred views on my first video, to getting 10k-25k views a video and gaining about 2500 subscribers. Due to a $2 RPM (Revenue Per Mille) and my life taking a significant turn, I had to stop posting. This was despite the unprecedented growth.

A few years later and some sparse posts in between, as well as two other smaller channels I created as experiments. One of which was a One Piece channel I grew to 120 subscribers in a month only for Oda to go on a 5-week break, which made me come to the realization that this will never work. I realized that I was entirely at Echiiro Oda’s mercy and would struggle to make videos with no new chapters coming out. That was about a year and a half ago. Recently I decided to try to reboot my channel Alien Bros and obviously did not expect to get the same views I used to get. Although for several years of not posting the views I was getting back in December weren't that bad. I was getting about 100–500ish views a video, a far cry from the 15,000+ I had grown used to receiving.
